The aim of this course is to introduce working with Batik in a way that you may not have done so before. Batik is usually thought of as a medium for basic imagery or textile design, however, on this course you can explore Batik in a much more pictorial way, creating an image of your choice with more detail than most people usually think of for the medium. After first getting to grips with the concept and basics of the of the medium, you can then work on your individual projects, which can be as simple or challenging as your skill level desires. Both beginners and improvers are welcome, with individual tuition at every stage to allow you to proceed at your own pace.

About the Tutor
Rosalind Wise B.A. Hons (Fine Art). I am an artist and qualified art teacher. I am most well known for my painting of flowers as seen at ‘Nature in Art’. I began painting plants by studying them botanically in order to observe their structure, shape and form. More recently I have been painting in situ - where they grow naturally. These paintings fall into two categories - garden borders/grass meadows and fields. I paint on a grand scale in oil on canvas. I have held exhibitions of my work in ‘Nature in Art’, Nailsworth and London. Disclaimer: The contents of this article was correct at the time of publish.
